I'm new to hot yoga. What do I need to know?

Welcome to our wonderful, sweaty world.  Hydration is an absolute must - take care of your body before, during and after class.  Bring a water bottle to class and eat a light snack at least 60 minutes before you flow.

Dress comfortably.  We recommend moisture-wicking clothing that enables easy movement.  We sell activewear (women's and men's) if needed.

I'm actually new to yoga in general. Help?

No worries if it's your first time, we'll be gentle.  Reserve a mat in the middle or back of the room, so you can watch and learn from others in the class.  Let the instructor know ahead of time that you're a newbie.

We can also arrange private lessons to teach you some basics before entering a class setting.

How hot is hot?

The studio uses state-of-the-art infrared heating technology to heat the room between 85-95 degrees.  We add humidity to enable easy, comfortable breathing.  Our aim is to enhance your flow - not to knock you out with stifling heat.  The practice space is equipped with ceiling fans, ventilation and windows for fresh air and circulation.

We offer some low heat classes, in which temperatures can range between 75-85 degrees.  Check the schedule for the most up-to-date options.

How early should I arrive? What if I'm late?

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class starts.  If you are not checked in at least 5 minutes prior, your spot may be given away.

We get that sometimes the subways fail miserably, but we ask that you call the studio If you are running late so we can hold your mat.  Unfortunately, late entry will not be permitted after the first 5 minutes of class.

On the waitlist?

We encourage you to stop by the studio 10 minutes before the start of class since late cancellations do happen. The waitlist opens 5 minutes prior to the start of class. As spots open, waitlisted clients will be placed into class on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the cancellation policy?

No one likes to be penalized, and we don't like penalizing.  We ask that you please cancel at least 3 hours before class starts.  Your class will be returned to your account to use on a future date.  The class will not be refunded.

A late cancellation (less than 3 hours before class) will result in a deduction of the class from your account.  No-shows without cancellation will be charged a $10 penalty and will result in a deduction of the class from your account.

For monthly members and unlimited pass-holders, late cancellation of a class will result in a $10 charge, and a no-show will result in a $30 charge to your account.

I'm pregnant. Can I still take class?

We offer prenatal (unheated) yoga classes just for you!  Heatwise is not in a position to recommend practicing in our regularly heated classes if you are pregnant.  We suggest getting permission from your doctor.

Anything else I need to know?

Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Kindly silence your cell phones and keep them in your locker.  We like to keep the practice space as screen-free as possible.

Heatwise is not responsible for lost items, so lock up your belongings in the lockers provided.  Contact us directly to inquire about the lost-and-found.

There are no showers, though we distribute cold, eucalyptus-infused towels at the end of class and bathrooms are stocked with premium products so you can freshen up before you venture out.

The studio is cashless. We accept all credit cards.

Hmm...I still have more questions.
