Join us for our upcoming Yin Yoga Teacher Training led by Amy Apgar. This 20 hour program is designed for certified yoga instructors.
Yin yoga is a deeply meditative practice defined by long holds in passive shapes, supported by the mat and props, and rooted in both traditional Chinese medicine and Indian yoga traditions. While “yang” yoga styles like vinyasa focus on muscle and movement, yin yoga provides a necessary balance to our active practices by accessing deep connective tissues like fascia, while providing more time and space to build nervous system capacity through sitting in stillness and sensation.
Through a combination of virtual and in-studio training hours featuring practice, lecture, discussion, and posture clinic, this training provides not only a deep dive into your own personal practice, but also the foundational skills to lead a complete yin practice for others or to incorporate yin principles and techniques into your current classes.
Gain a thorough understanding of yin yoga shapes and how to cue and sequence them, including modifications inclusive of all bodies, corresponding subtle body energetic principles and mindfulness techniques, the impact of stress on the nervous system and the art of holding space for your students to experience the deeply nourishing benefits of yin yoga.
